Growing up in Jamaica, it was a painful watching fresh fruits going to waste after sellers at the local farmers markets discard leftover produce. These vendors were not equipped with the cold storage required to store the produce for the next week's market, and neither did they have an innovative approach that could extend the shelf life. Imaging witnessing this food waste while concurrently hearing discussions of national unemployment being out of control.

As a child, I never accepted this had to be the reality. I believe for many years that these wasted foods were valuable and through unlocking those values, we could employ many in the sustainable agriculture sector. We don't have to imagine now because we can now act and make that world the new reality. Many years later, I would leave Jamaica to study engineering in United States where I would be able to learn many scientific techniques necessary to expand beyond those natural limitations. Furnished with a dream and some personal capital in the fall season of 2019, I was able to start the mission of creating value from the wasted food I witnessed as a child.

Jus chill

Jus chill was created to cover the lack of diversity in the food choices offered on the grocery shelves.

The product evolved with very good differentials compared to the traditional potato potatoes that fill the shelves. A natural and sustainable product direct from Jamaica.

Jus Chill brings a taste of the healthy, tropical flavor to satisfy the craving.

We adhere to the Triple Bottom Line framework where we seek to consider People, Planet, and Profit. Ensuring that the business supports the three P’s is important and we do this by dealing fairly with the suppliers that we purchase our raw Breadfruits and using the Breadfruit that would otherwise be going to waste reduce the strain on the planet resources such as soil nutrients.
