Growing up in Jamaica, Javion Blake watched fresh fruit go to waste after each farmers’ market. Vendors often lacked the cold storage and processing tools needed to preserve unsold produce—even as communities faced unemployment and limited economic opportunity.

He believed those overlooked foods still held value. After moving to the United States to study engineering, he gained the scientific skills to turn that belief into action. In 2019, Javion invested his own capital to begin building Jus Chill: a company designed to reduce food waste, create demand for Jamaican breadfruit, and support livelihoods across the agricultural supply chain.

Our breadfruit snacks and baking mixes offer a distinctive alternative to familiar potato- and grain-based products, using Jamaican breadfruit with a naturally versatile flavor.

We follow a people, planet, and profit approach. That means building fair relationships with suppliers, creating value from breadfruit that might otherwise go to waste, and making products customers can feel good about sharing.
